Siege of Alesia

One of the crucial moments in  Caesars campaign in Gaul: the tenacious defense by the Roman Legion of the siege works around Alesia against a massive Celtic relief force.

The figurines are a mix of Italeri and HAT and the fence pallisade is from branches out of my garden, sharpened with a pencil sharpener. I used cocktail sticks to make look the Roman defense line more impressive and handpainted the regimental flag.
